I was advised by the garage that did my MOT that the engine mount bushes are beginning to show signs of old age and the movement is a little bit more than they would like (Not enough to fail the MOT but something to be aware of). What are the advantages of the , bearing in mind this is an 8 year old car, over the stock mounts from Hyundai. The blurb say they will last 3-5 times longer than stock ones so thats 24-40 years (that puts me somewhere between retirement and death) and however much I love her I have serious doubts that she will last that long without some major money being spent (which I don't have) or the government finding some way of outlawing our type of car.

Any thoughts on this welcome as I know diddly about engines, just please keep it to words a novice will understand because too much technical and my brain goes into meltdown (and I'm pretty sure theres a few of us like that on here ).

I dont know for certain scout, but i think it'll help to reduce engine flex when accellerating (i have always believed this to be when your under the bonnet and accelerate you can see the engine rock)

Unless the price is very competeative for these, id be tempted to whack oon standard mounts if it proves finantially better as i cant personally see any other gains from that.

i believe because thet are alot harder that if you pull away fast with your wheels spinning that they stop the bouncing of the front wheels that you can sometimes experiance.
