MOT in March. Basically, as above, the drivers seat belt doesn't retract when taken off. If i wave the belt about a bit it does retract but it's not pulling as sharply and with as much force as the (much less used) passenger side belt. It works ok regarding stopping etc

Is this a MOT problem / failure?

Mine does exactly the same thing, unclip, give it a wiggle and it retracts.
Had my MOT 2 weeks ago and it passed fine....

Thank you. Didn't think it would be problem but MOTs etc always bring visions of £££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££

Thanks :thumbup

No worries :thumbup
Im sure they are more bothered about the seatbelt actually doing its job properly i.e. locking up under harsh braking or impact. I cant imagine it being a problem if it doesnt retract...

With seatbelts it's worthwhile to pull out the entire length of the belt occaisionally, right up to the end with the little data tag woven in. Allow it to retract slowly, this kind of resets the recoil spring and allows you to check for hidden twists etc...

Might take a couple of goes before its sorted - then again, could be thoroughly buggered...

No harm in trying though :)

You're lucky... I've had the Gen3 V6 now for 2 MOT's and it's failed both! Lol.

First for a new wiper and new tyre, second (on Monday) for brakes. Lol.
