Theres been some 30 people looking at this now, no other people interested then?

So far its
ukdegu, and
Androo are both dead certs. (Androos got a special test lined up that will be used as a bible for us all regarding induction kits! :D)

the guys who can possibly make it are:
Miles - GT3 racer
Dan - ex-coupe, now S2000
Steveo - Coupe
Steveb - Coupe

Im going back again to test the gains (if any) in my aluminium flywheel and Stage 1 clutch. Plus, this will be my last rolling road tune before the ECU comes along/ the internals start. So this final test this weekend for me will be my 'control test'.

If anyone else has any plans to modify, or not, its great just to see you car show itself on a peice of paper, so show to the world how powerfull you are (or arnt! :lol)
all in all its a great day guys, essentially a coupe meet, just with a rolling road bonus thrown in! lol.

right im not sure how well these will turn out but here goes.

first one is the one i had done 3 years ago with just an air filter on. also note it is at a different dyno



and here is the one done on sat



looking at the two my whp has gone up a nice amount but ive actually lost torque.
not to sure how that has happened.

no, nearest was androo (1st run) with just a full exhaust.
but we are trying to source a standard coupe for the next one!!

mod list:
Aaron - mileage 77,000ish
Induction kit (mix n match, classed as a CAI i spose)
Maintec GT header, plus 2.25" exhaust system- sports cat.
Aluminium flywheel
Excedy stage 1 clutch.
= 127.7whp, 126.6lb ft

Steve: 60,000ish ? i think.
CAI
OBX design manifold, plus 2.5" exhaust system with sport cat.
Lightened by 5lbs? (i think) OEM flywheel
Excedy stage 1 clutch
EVO cam
underdrive crank pulley
grounding kit- voltage stabilizer (some claim gains from this, so thought i would add it in the list)
Apexi Neo fueling ECU
= 127.5whp (-0.2whp) , est 118lb ft (-8lb ft)

thats the mods of each.
HP wise, we are pretty similar, in graph shape and peak points. but the torque is so much different. as said, im up by about 14lb ft over a 2,000rpm range.
i must remember my graphs tomorrow!

mine is 65000 miles mate. all the mods you listed are right except are results where 121.5 and 121.7.
im wondering if somthing isnt quite right with my car because if you look at my first graph from a few years back my torque is closer to what yours is now aaron. i seem to have lost about 15ft lbs of torgue over the years but gained around 30whp. this dont seem right to me.

An interesting thing between yours and Androo's graph is that you seem to be down 10ft Lbs across the revrange, but seem to hang on to it for longer, hence the slightly increased peak BHP, may be a result of the EVO Cam.

Aaron - Get your graph up!

Steve - Dont worry about what the previous Dyno shows, no point in comparing as there are far too many factors that can affect it :)

my graph will go up! but its at home, will have to be a 'il do it tomorrow' job. lol.



but just to revive an old subject, when i did before and after on my exhaust, and the BHP gains were said to be +20bhp and +21lb ft and people said it wasnt possible, wel just look at how my engine fairs against Steves.
BHP is an estimate of course, but perhaps this shows the gains from my exhaust arnt the runny poo people thought they were!

Now after looking at androos, it seems our curves are quite similar; we both get a kick up the bum @ 4,000rpm in terms of torque. my mods pretty much mimic androos;

Induction
Maintec header
full exhaust
200 cell cat
+ aluminium flywheel and clutch.

my peak torque, as the guy highlighted when i was there, but not on graph, was 126.6 at the wheels.

maybe this could be the differance between the evo cam and stock.

Steve, looking at your again, something has really cost you toque. your hp is great, but were mine and androos gets a final boost in torque, you drop right off!
and with what benje said about you 'hanging onto it for longer' isnt actualy right either, looking at it properly, you have the same torque as us @ peak hp (or just about) it just looks like a slower decline because yours was much lower in the 1st place.

i really want to find out whats cost you that torgue; as i dont want to loose mine!! lol.

its got to be the evo cam. it wouldnt be the apexi as my air fuel is pretty good.
the crank pully dont really do sod all bar put less stress on the engin. so the evo cam is all thats left. plus my other graph shows the torque up where it should be (granted it is on another dyno) and that was done befor the cam was fitted.

Just a little nugget of info: to make the Beta 200bhp NA, is about the same money as doing a Turbo conversion, of 200bhp. A turbo, in this instance, only becomes value for money if you want over the 200bhp mark.

yea head work and make or break an engine. if its poorly done, wel; ruins it to the point of selling!
correctly done though by the right people, can be the finishing touch to a project.


Im looking to pencil in the next rolling road guys... im looking at the 1st of November (saterday) or the 2nd. if anyone is still watching this thread, has anyone got a preference? or possibly, putting it back a week? dont think i can bring it forward.
all are welcome. i will finalise the date one way or another this weekend. (14th-15th sept) so that gives 4 weeks notice minimum
