Need some suggestions here!!

Jumped up at 07:50 this morning after hearing a crashing sound and was literally at the window within 2 seconds....passenger window was shateered on my car and the place was deserted. (I live on a very quiet cul-de-sac with open views). I knew that no-one was near the car and no-one ran away.
Moments later my neighbour knocked on the door...she had been stood outside her front door watering her hanging basket when it happened!...it was about 12 feet from my car... Not a soul in sight, she was convinced that it had spontaneously exploded.

Now, I have taken the best part of 3 hours clearing the glass and searching for a pellet or ball-bearing, as the only possible cause would be that it was fired at? Can't find anything and the only possible direction it could have been fired from would have meant my car was in line of fire of my neighbour's front door!!

So....can windows just explode

thought it was toughened glass on the doors (due to there being no metal frame) so would have imagined it needing a major thump to smash like that. As a bizzar thought... was it really hot/sunny where the car was? remember glass can crack if it's really hot and is suddenly cooled (ie splashed by the neighbour's cold watering hose) - would imagine it being quite unlikely (especially in this coutry and at 7:50am - plus never heard of any1's windows cracking do to watering plants nearby)

thats strange, i no that on some vaxuhall tigra's the passenger window goes down when the boot is open as the boot closing creates such an increase in the pressure inside the window can pop out

It might be worth contacting Hyundai to see if anyone else had experienced a similar problem.

Definitely sounds like a sniper - but at that time in the morning!?
Neighbour sounds suspect - Do they always water their "hanging baskets" at that time in the morning?

Professor Plum , on the driveway , with a bb gun , sorry just trying to put a smile back on you face Chris , yeah whats with watering the hanging baskets ??? i have 4 baskets in my back garden and i have not put a drop of water on them for months with all this rain .

It's interesting that the remains of the window had spread about 3 feet inside & outside the car! (I'd swept up the drive in the pic above)

I am going to log this with Hyundai and see what comes of it.
