Use a heat gun to soften the glue from the pad 1st...hell of a lot easier

With a brief window of opportunity, I decided to fit my spanky new Tuscani badges on Xmas day afternoon. Modding the car in some way on Xmas day has been a long tradition around here!

So, for anyone else contemplating this job... here's what I did.

With advice from you lot, I used a heat gun on its lowest setting to warm the original hyundai badges up, then used a very fine cord to cut through the glue behind the badge until it was loose enough to pop off. More heat and a thumbnail removed the larger blobs of remaining glue, a little white spirit the removed the rest. After some ultra fine refinishing paste to make everything shiny, the new badges were applied.

I found that if you warm the badges thoroughly, you can literally pull them off with your fingernails. With heat, the orginal adhesive goes very very soft. Just don't cook your paint.

Cor... she don't half look nice guv ! And yes, Tuscani badges confuse the hell out of people!!
