Green Brake Calipers

Been thinking about painting my brake calipers green to match my car. I've seen that they do the paint in Halfords (any good?). Would like comments and/or advice. Would this look good, is it worth doing? Has anyone else done similar - if so, pics please.

hiya,

i've used the paint from halfords, the tin by its self, not the kit, and it looks ok on the car, i used a wire brush and iron wool to get the rust off, then some degreaser to clean the calipers. then it took 2-3 coats (thin) with a smallish brush, and let it dry by its self, (10-15 mins) then put your wheel back on, being careful not to touch the paint.

Use Hamerite not the Foilatec stuff. I tried the foilatec stuff and it's all but gone 18 months later. Can't be bothered to wire brush it all down and do it again. The others that have used Hamerite (also from Halfords) have had really good long lasting results.

Hi

I used Hammerite on mine as well and they still look good after about 4 months so I think it will last for a good long time.

And it is so much cheaper than brake paint as well

I did it when I had my Green coupe, I used Forrest green Hamelrite paint.
It looked cool.
