Body Kit Help

Hiya guys,

I have just had a phone call from the body shop who have been trying to fit my new body it is the hyundai tiburon kit. And they cannot fit it??

Why Studie bumper was an excellent fit, however there were no holes in it, my sprayer had to drill the holes himself to attach it to the car - it may be something similar with you body kit.

Thats kit is a Bit** to fit, we can do it for you if you want, body shop will charge about Â£1500 fitted and sprayed. They have experience in fitting it.

Could you break down that cost into what the fitting cost is and what the spraying cost is Matt?

Yes this kit is a knightmare, my bodyshop took 3 months to do it all, although i did have the widearch version so a bit more work, but they said that none of the kit fitted, everything was too short, so like Saffie's bodyshop, they cut the skirts and filled the gap it left. I think from memory they will have to remove the standard skirts as well to get them to fit.

The front bumper was a joke, once it was fitted it was sooo high off the ground I would have to have slammed the coupe to the ground, but then my sideskirts would rub on the ground. So my bodyshop cut the bumper clean in half and made it about 5inches deeper. Once they did that hey had to build it up in certain areas as it never fitted around the lights very well.

I think its about Â£500 for spraying and sundaries and the rest for fitting it.

as Steve says its a bug*er to have fitted, its normal for the skirts to not sit flush.
they dont sit out much though, heres a pic of mine. Its not a brill shot of the skirts, but youll get the idea. The skirts are screwed in to the car and filled over. Just make sure they do a proper job with the spraying. there is also a lot of flex in the bumpers so the lacker will crack.

The body shop have sprayed all the kit, and fitted a different spoiler and filled the middle whole on the boot and sprayed that and only want Â£150....

Hanson Body shop, in High Wycombe (Bucks).
But will have to pay more now, they are trying to fit the front bumper which is proving to be a mission at the minute so will prob ramp up the price for that!
