Seen as though the ice managed to snap my wiper blade clean in two (only held together by the rubber) I need to get hold of some more, now I was thinking of getting the Aero Flat Wiper Blades, such as:

I was just wondering if anyone on here has used them? If so are they better then the standard ones?

I did have a look through the site with the search function because I have seen a similar thread to this on here before but search could not find it so I just posted up here,

the general concencous is that the areo ones are much better than the standard..
one thing I would check though before you get them is that your wiper arm applies enough pressure as mine on the gen 3 appears not to.

take your blade off and put your finger between the the arm and the window, if it's pushing on your finger it should be fine, if it's resting without applying presure it may not be.

I have the aero blades on my gen 3, hell of a difference now. will never go back.

Nice, I think that the blades should be ok as you do have to give the arms a bit of a pull to stand them up.

Just tried what you said LiDl, there is a fair bit of pressure on me finger when the blade is off so that should be ok shouldn't it?

if you can feel it pushing back against you then that should be enough.

The cheapest "aero" wipers that ive found so far are the classic car company... Tesco

nope straight fit, i got mine from http://www.wiperblades.co.uk/ the "retrofit" ones. They clip over as normal and are held in place with a big clip unlike the stock ones which can come off if given the right circumstance.

I got mine off eBay, definitely well worth it

It doesn't actually matter what car it says they are for - they all fit the same way. I searched for the cheapest I could find that were the right sizes. Think it said the ones I got were for a Mitsi Galant or something

i got some off those guys you'r looking at on ebay hig, i had a set of 3 from them for about £13 i think, all seems fine so far:)

yep, had these on my gen 1 and they were fantastic.

just bought a pair for my dads car off that guy on ebay - v quick and perfect

Ive been having issues with my wiper blades / windscreen since having my gen3. For a while the wiper blade on the drivers side was juddering terribly so finally forked out the cash for some aero blades I thought great the juddering will stop....

yes it did but now on the drivers side its smearing a bit and you can see marks where the old wiper used to judder, I initially thought grease on the screen so Ive tried meths, white vinegar, soapy water, autoglym fast glass, rain x etc etc... The Autoglym fast glass did the job of getting rid of the marks but now they appear to be coming back faintly and the drivers side is still smearing on the way down.

As far as I can tell the arm on the drivers side seems to put enough pressure on but i might be wrong, could I just be unlucky and have a dodgy blade even though its new? I tried to swap it tonight for the rear one to see if it fixed it but for the love of me I couldnt get it off in the dark/cold.

Please any ideas???

I had some aero ones and they lasted less than a week. They are shocking, They don't keep contact with around 30% of the screen. I replaced them with Bosch Spoiler blades and they are a million times better.

can i double double check that the gen3 has 21 inch driver side and 18inch passenger side blades?

saw a chrome wiper arm set.......not gonna do it! i draw the line there!

Just double checked my eBay purchase, I bought 20, 22 and 18. All my blades are a good fit to the window, nothing sticks up, etc. The rear seems to lack the required pressure to do a proper job though, any way of tightening this up?

right, aero wipers fitted and tested ... work very well, much better then the standard ones, big from me for the aero wipers ... thanks for all the responses btw
