Damned ice! went to load my car with almost the rest of my stuff since I'm leaving Bath now and the car was frozen stiff. i couln't get the drivers door oen, just about managed to get the passenger door open. The boot was another nightmare.

In the end I decided to push the drivers door open from the inside, a couple of manly pushes and it opened about half way by which time I realised that water had somehow filled the rubber door seal and frozen making it stiff. It also got between the seal and the door sill forming an adhesive bond that was stronger than the rubber itself - ripping it from the plastic hooks that are frankly a bit of a crumby idea in the first place.


It doesn't hang down particularly and doesn't get trapped but the holes are now too big to hang it back on propperly. Very annoyed!

This has happened loads of times to me over the years , dont force the door open ... pour some warm water around the door frame first before opening it

It's worth spraying rubber parts with silicone spray as it helps stop this kind of thing happening. Also good to make them last longer in the sun.

I've had it afew times over the last few days, the handle freezing to the bodywork, the lock freezing and the door freezing to the car.


aswell as the windscreen freezing inside and out.


plenty of warm water on the key, around the door seal and thrown over the handle, and then deicer and a scraper all over the windscreen.

My passenger door froze shut the other night, just gave it a tug and it came open.

Have had the ice on the inside of the windscreen too a few times, only thinly but if you dont realise you keep looking outside your windscreen for whats wrong

im getting big problems with ice aswell
strangley it only ever seems to be the drivers door that gets stuck fast

try the silicone idea.it works

once the seal was pretty thawed out I got most of the clips back in successfully but it isn't perfect and will need to be replaced one day I reckon.

I've struggled with this since I got my car, the problem is when the water froze inside the rubber it expanded and now the holes in the rubber are too big for the yellow pins. and now I can't get it to stay on properly!!!! ahhhh
