Can anyone tell me if the bulb bayonets for the FL gen 3.5 tail lights are the same as the gen 3, i.e are the teeth the same? reason i ask is, ive just bought a set of gen 3.5 tailights without the wiring harness or the bulb bayonets and im hoping that i can just use the exisiting ones from the gen 3 lights.

I *THINK* only the indicator bulbs are different and that it's just that the gen3.5 is coloured instead of clear.

All the bulbs are the same except the indicator bulb, theindicator bulb has offset lugs whereas the Gen 3 has inline lugs.

Right, finally got my gen 3 N/S rear light out today to check the bulb holders. You guys were right, only the indicator bulb doesnt fit. Here is what i found:

Old gen 3 light:



New Gen 3.5 light:



As you can see the top lug on the gen 3 light is slightly larger that then gen 3.5 light. It looks like it would be a perfect fit apart from this lug. My question is, should i cut the lug to size, or if i chop it off do you think it will hold still with the other 3 lugs?
