well on a serious modding session at the mo (new lights, badges, wheels, spoilers,etc) and I was thinking of taking off my vents on the Gen3 and spraying just the fake mesh part silver?looked up da DIY on NT but it had no pics. Doesnt look that hard to get pff but does any1 know if I can maybe clip out the fake mesh part to spray it

They are quite easy to get off, the only problem you may have is the clips tend to break.
Just take off the wheel, remove the lining and use a pair of pliers to squeeze the clips.
If your taking them off, get ya self some 3mm Amber LEDs, fit 'em in to the gills and wire them in to the indicators.

saw a black 3.5 in cork with that done and to my eyes it looked a lol naff! maybe cos ur man was a pure boi racer tho

Or you could fit blue ones.
Of Course, you'd need a switch to operate only when posing.....

This is slightly off topic but where can I pickup the shark gill style vents? Are that stock on the gen 3 or something?

They are standard on the Gen 3, they changed on the Facelift (3.5)

Something that occurred to me is, you'll only want to paint the raised parts.

Hope you used to do Air-fix kits coz you'll need to use the 'dry' painting method.

I see the difference.
What I mean is that the gill has a raised effect on the black part to look like a black mesh with a vent behind it.
So what you need to do is just paint the raised area to give the appearence of a silver mesh with a vent behind it.

yeah it would be better!unfortunalty there is flood warnings for Cork so maybe not this weekend............

Just park in a multistorey carpark and paint them. Shouldn't take too long to do
