Number plate shape

Ordered my private plate this week, rushed to buy it and ordered 2 x long oblong plates for front and back, but noticed a coupe on here (macker) got a square plate, are gen 3 coupes suppose to have a sqaure fron plate? if anyone who has one can post a pic on this topic for me to see will be great, coz could be worth the extra Â£20 to buy if it looks nicer than oblong

The mount for the front numberplate is the size of a square plate, whereas the standard long plate sticks out in an odd way

Mine had a standard one, but swapped it for a square one when I got my private plate - looks way better in my opinion

If you do get a square one, don't get one with the GB / Euro stars on the blue that you get these days. Looks rubbish on a square plate (personally I think it looks rubbish and don't have it on the back either)

Yup standard gen3's came with the long plates for some reason, looks odd and can snap easily if you walk past a bit quick.
Replace with the nice square ones, job done. If you need another square front one, go to ebay, you can get legal square plates for very little (mine was Â£5).

I used to have a square plate on mine.
Then I changed the bumper and had a small square motorbike style one on it.

Black to a long plate now tho

Ye i noticed that earlier, walked past the front bumper fast in the garage and the plate got caught in my trousers, so will swap for a square one, does anyone know the dimensions of a sqaure plate? if you guys got pics pop a few on here please so i can have a goosy

Its approx 28cm (Length) x 20cm (Width) 11" x 8".

An oversized plate (21" x 6") looks damn good on the back aswell, fills out that gap nicely

My Gen3.5's front is square but Excypher (who lives near me) has a long one on his Gen3.5. Was there a date cut-off or is it just random?
