OK so as a few of you may know I have just bought a coupe and although it blew up and is being repaired when it worked it was the best 30 minuets of my life! ha-ha.

any ways once my car is up and running again i want to do a few simple yet effective mods and wanted to know if any of you guys would know the best way to go about it.

just to remind you i have a black gen II coupe 2.0

i want to:

De badge the car

Black out all the rear lights as dark as they will legally go!

tint the windows as black as they will legally go

either powder coat the original alloys black to save on insurance increase
or
get some 17" black alloys

black out the side indicators

so really i want my black coupe as black as it will possibly go! lol

love the whole black idea but not sure about the de baged look. i always said i wasned myn taking off but it looked empty and the badges are quiet nice so i put them back on (and every1 knows its a SE )

Lose the badges and replace the H badges with custom ones Black with your choice of words in white/silver, maybe Black Beauty

it depends what you want mate! if you just want the original lights black then yes just buy tint spray but you will have to buy some reflectors for mot if your spraying the whole of the light! Alternatively you could try out black lexus lights?

I think the SE just has a few extras such as leather seats, electric mirros, air con, cruise control..... I have the 1.6 base model so i have none

yeah leather seats, ac (that dont work) electric mirrors & sunroof and cruise control, oh the fun we have had with that lol

it also means the insurance company think they can charge me 100's more, for the sake of 3, 2 letter badges

well i have a black coupe (gen 3) and have blacked the rear lights, tinted all the front lights. It doesn't look bad.

ok so lets re cap on my plans

at some point il buy myself some 17inch black alloys with a possible red lining not sure yet...

buy a couple of cans of tinting spray from hallfords or ebay for the back lights, fog lights and side indicators

debadge the car with a hair dryer

buy a custom made tuscani black badge to replace the hyundai one

buy some 35% tint film from halfords and wrap it around the glass lense of my front lights and get brighter lights

paint the brake pad thingy's red lol

limo tint the back 3 windows and then 35% tint the front two windows.

can anyone think of any other way to black out my coupe legaly and cheaply lol and if anyone can see a way of doing these mods an easier cheaper way than what ive listed let me know.

If your going for thr full on Black look then you need to swop your seats with a gen1 owner to get full black leather

full external black look yes but i love my interior to much to change it! lol

Just remember if you want to tint your windows to the max...

It might be cool during daytime but it can be a right pain in the arse when it is dark.

You get a hellish "wall effect" and have to take a LOT more care when pulling out or looking over your shoulder - especially at night

My windows are tinted but not to a great extent and is a good balance I think
