Is there an aerial you can buy instead of the horrible retractable one?

Would like something like a beesting?

ahh right, I would have thought you could do mate, don't know if the Gen3 bee sting aerials would fit from Performance Coupe but you can buy universal ones from palces like motor world etc. I think they are called anti theft aerials but look the same as bee sting ones from what I remember

you mean the automatic aerial?

If so the unit it drops out from underneath, I think you have to take the unit apart to take the aerial out, then you can screw something in where the aerial came out if you get me, this guide would give you a better idea:
