Just use T'cut and plenty of elbow grease it should bring the shine to the clear coat, remember to wax it afterwards, edit Don't you have a black Gen 3? if you do the paint doesn't need a clear coat its a solid colour, (ebony black) and is pure black which you can get almost anywhere.

Ah pants, Ok so wet sand off the clear coat or sand the clear coat and make it shine??

Just T'cut the area using plent of elbow grease it should be ok, I'll have a look and advise you better when you come across to Stoke

get a finnishing mop for your angle grinder and some finnishing paste and mop it with plenty of water. that will get the shine back.

ive used an angle grinder with a mop before now. admittadly it is fast but the trick is to let it hover over the panel with out pressing down and use plenty of water. the other way is the karatae kid way righta sand lefta sand to get the laquer flat and level then wax on wax off wax on wax off but on the bright side your biceps will be like arnies and you will be able to wa*k with speed just dont pull it off when your done.

dont use an angle grinder
you start slow speed to spread the compound around,then bilud speed up slowly,then use a polish to shine the paintwork then seal with wax
