The best paint is Hammerite Smooth

On a Blue coupe I would say either red or gold

My brothers mate had a horror story with hammerite.........for some reason it melted went onto the pads and totalled his car

it was concluded that it was his fault due to the fact its not designed to deal with "brake Calliper heat"..........i dunno how much truth there is in this , or whether the insurance companies tech engineer was paid to conclude that so they didnt have to pay out. but because of that i used "Brake calliper paint" therefor if that happened it would be the fault of the paint manufacturer and not the owner/driver. so i would be covered!!

B&Q do Plastikote and a high temp enamel paint as well.
I painted mine Metallic Blue with the High Temp enamel., but I'm re-doing them in Metallic Red .

I did mine in red.
I used halfords own brand of caliper paint, cost less than a tenner and has a really good finish.

yellow by far is better than gold imo. But if your interior is red i;d do red and stick with the theme mate.

I think green shouldn't be used unless your car is green, and even then it's debatable.

White would stand out nice, but it depends if your going for a multi coloured theme or not. I'd stick to red as it will match your theme. Or yellow because it will go nice with the blue. Or pink cos she's a girl and it will also go nice with the blue...but then the interior would have to be pink...hmm...stick with red.

gold would look good mate but its becoming a common colour as you can see from the replies. Got a lot of time for people that try new things :scared even though some prefer the 'old school rules'

Try HALFORDS to see what colour you fancy, I used Hammerite and its great. Maybe the horror story was the chap didn't let the paint dry enough before driving.

GOLD!

And, yes, Hammerite smooth is the stuff.

Just click on my car and check out the wheels pic. That photo is over three years old and the calipers look exactly like that still!

Jimmy

GOLD!

White would look messy very quickly, brake dust would wreak havoc.
