What type of number plates do you all have on the front of your coupe's? Mine is the standard rectangular one with the numbers all on one line. However I have seen the square plate ones with the numbers over two lines. Im thinking about changing....what are you views?

I prefer the standard oblong version as it fits in with the wide front of the grill and sleek lights. The square version seems to be at odds with the sleekness of the coupe particularly my S111.
Just look in the Garage section at a few variations and make your mind up. It's a personal thing really.

First thing i did with both my coupes was to change to the almost square number plate.Like the other post said it fits in better with the styling of the car.

Lots of hassle to buy a number plate now,you have to take loads of documents to prove its your car and its entered on to some kind of database.

Unless you use my local shop who has known us for years and just knocks up one in mins with no paperwork involved .

Let me guess, with whatever letters and numbers you like in any order you choose?

what gen Coupe have you got? Havent sen any of the square ones here because all licence plates here have to be the rectangler ones!i think the square one looks good too!

If there were rules about plate sizes (ie the size of the entire plate) then how did Jag/Rover get away with the custom shaped rear plates on the Xj and 75?

I believe (certainly on the 75 at least) that the plates were *larger* than standard, which I'd expect to be fine. The only issue might be if there isn't enough of a border around the letters for the cameras to be able to differentiate between the letters and the sides of the plate...

I know the ickle tiny plates are illegal, But jap sized ones are fine. (In Ireland anyway).

The Brittish cops have alot of ridiculous laws over there. I'm surprised you can get away with anything.

I'm just glad that Irish cops are a bit more lenient/less intelligent.
