Odd Noise from Passenger Door

Hi All

This isn't about appearance so I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this so sorry if it should be elsewhere

The passenger door on my Gen 3 has recently started making a loud bang for no apparent reason when the car is moving. Sometimes it doesn't happen for days and then it will do it once in a journey. Its quite loud - almost as if the locking mechanism is letting go but there is no sign of the door coming open - no light on the dash and if I stop and check from the outside, the door is firmly closed.

Anyone else had this happen? Mrs Spinynorman is worried that she might suddenly be ejected from the car (no comments please :mrgreen:

Hmmmmmmmm

I have a strange knocking noise (like a dull bang) coming front the passenger side of the car somewere. I originally thought it was something wrong around the wheel or something in the engine bay but having checked everything I can see and its all as tight as its getting, so nothings loose or worn. Might investigate the door to see if its coming from there, if you have any luck let me know.

Does it happen when you go over a harsh bump? Or just totally random?

Totally random - it doesn't seem to be affected by cornering or bumps in the road :dontgetit

. Looks like I need to turn the stereo up louder
