Hey, Iv had the worst day ever so far lol
So now I have this light on my dash and I know its serious by a wee read of my mannual. Question I would like to know so I dont seem stupid tomorrow is...
What would cause this light to go on briefly?
Just so you know car was looked at today and things that were touched were:-
Steering belt
Brake disks and pads
manafold
If that may help my question?

sounds like another lose sensor the o2 senor is just after the manifold if this losens it triggers the problem lights. will either be that or crank senors need doing up at worst could need a cat, or may just be down to the dodgy fuel again

If it's the intake manifold they looked at, they may have left something disconnected.
If it's the exhaust manifold then the problem lies with the O2 (oxygen) sensor.
Not your Pads.
Not your steering belt.
I suspect that something has been disturbed or disconnected/wrongly connected. Go back to the garage that did the work and tell them the light came on after they worked on the manifold. (The other two items you had done will not bring the light on whatever happens...not ever.)

I had exactly the same problem, got a diagnosis done at my local Hyundai dealer (said it was $45 on the phone but they did it free for some reason) and it was diagnosed as faulty Oxygen Sensor. Cost me $220 to have an new oxygen sensor supplied and fitted by my mechanic.
