Hello all,
I am the proud (and fast!) new owner of a coupe 2.0 03 reg in silver. I have wanted one for ages and now it is mine I love it. Corners so well and the noise from the engine is great.
One queston for you experts out there (and non-experts that know the answer!). The clutch bites very high to the top of the clutch pedal. I have done the slip tests etc and it stalls as it should in 2nd and 4th with no/little clutch play so I don't think it is that. The question is is the bite point being so high normal or do I need a new clutch?
I would really appreciate you comments befor etaking it to the dealer.

Oh one other question - is the clutch and exhaust covered under warranty?

I don't think they are covered by the warranty but the high bite point is normal

Superb - thanks for your help, really appreciate it. Any other comments people? Can others verify that this is normal to reassure me the car is fine?
Also I have rattle coming fromt he boot area - any ideas what causes this? I have tightened the jack up in it's pocket - no play in it. Checked the spare and tools and the plastic cover on it and all the plastic covers and net in the boot. Also checked cubby holes in the back - nothing!

Any ideas?

SNAP, my Gen 3 has a high biting point too - I got some nice boot rattle too.

The boot rattle is an easy fix, turn up your tunes! :rollin

Gen 3 version with photo.

There are some adjustments near the pedal pivot area...usual to have some adjustment on the upward travel of the pedal and push rod length.

the bite on my clutch is high, im thinking of getting it in soon to be looked at, it also sounds like its slipping a bit in certain gears

i have just got an extended warentee on the car which covers wear and tear on it upto 5 yrs or 60K miles so hopefully if it is a problem it will get sorted

clutch is cover by a 2year/20k warrenty, but as yours is an 03 it won't fall into this window.
