I have just purchased a Coup V6 2003 plate.
I picked it up on Monday, but i am concerned about a noise from the engine bay. I didnt here it pre purchase and test drive.
When the engine is idleing there is a knocking, press down the cluch and silence no noise's. Let the clutch out and knocking. If you do this about 3 or 4 times the noise goes away. But it comes back when it wants. Has anyone got any ideas. It is covered by the garage but i never trust em.

someone who is more machanicly minded will know. but the fly wheels on the coupes sometimes buckel with heat from the clutch.

Whats the milage on the car?

I am a bit of a tinkerer with cars but this engine is out of my league.
I have seen a problem similar ish.... it on another car were the clutch bearing on the lifting spring was rattling but this car had done over 100k and it was a ford.

well the GEN3 V6 clutch is reknown for haveing problems in the erly GEN3's as it is the clutch you will struggel to get it done on warrenty, there is a clutch warrenty for only 2 years or 20K so your just outside it.

Take it back straight away and they shoudl fix it. the longer you leave it the less likely they will fix it.
