I was looking at getting an SMT-6 when I was gonna put cams in the gen1 I had. IIRC, Jay (JDRides) is fully equipped and registered installer/tuner. Pretty close to you too at Purfleet - infact, I'm certain thats who SteveB went with when fitting and tuning his turbo...

jays your man to get it fitted - bloody clever he is

about £150 to fit, £300 to tune

I didnt realise you have an smt steve?!

had the smt6 in the old car, and its going in the v6

its a bitch to tune (crap software) on the timing side, map resolution isnt too bad, great piece of kit for the price though. Id reccomend and go again (as i have :lol)

absolutely. I had (and have) the smt-6. Its nice and cheap, Jay can fit 'em.

ALTHOUGH - the neo is also a nice piece of kit - the only real difference is that the smt does timing aswell as fuelling - which personally i wouldnt be that fussed about unless youre going FI or higher octane fuel etc where the timing is needed.

The smt is hidden where as the neo is a fancy handheld device but both get good reviews

What sort of price are these, I've put a few things onto my engine, and want to get the best out of them, not to mention I got a slight lag if I boot it as it can't get fuel in quick enough.

ATSpeed in Rayleigh tuned mine, lovely tune those guys know their stuff - but Jay came in and saved the day when they had wiring problems...

the smt6 is still being sold at about £300 delivered, but check out the yanks forums as they sell the neo and smt for peanuts (about $200 used plus shipping)

i never had one myself but i did a lot of looking around at that time and over all just prefered the neo. i also tried the aem piggyback. that was a good bit of kit too. i used it with my turbo but had problems with the maf. thats when i went over to stand alone and a map sensor. stand alone wins hands down but any of those 3 piggybacks would do the job well for what you want.

Are there cheaper options that do a good job?
