i'm repairing my 2005 Coupe after a bad accident & i bought half of a front one with 2.0 Engine
can i replace the 1.6 engine with the 2.0 on the Manual transition ?? & what should i replace else ???
or should i stick with my 1.6 ??? is there a big difference or what ???

it is doable.
however the easiest option by far is stick with 1.6 or you'll be having to change ecu etc etc

do i have to change the wiring or just the ECU ??
the cooling system is the same and i think that the alternator
however i need more advice from someone who made that replacement or a smiler experiment

Double check this with Sharky (as I'm not 100% certain), but I think the 1.6 gearbox is closer ratioed, and it will fit onto the 2.0 block. If its possible and you do go down the engine swap route, may be worth keeping the 1.6 box.

if its a different diff it may go better on a 2.0 with a 1.6 gearbox.20 years ago you could have swapped engines for a laugh.these days there is so much involved the ecu will be different and the wiring.then there are different engine sensors and mountings.the 1.6 is lower spec than 2.0 too,so there are no multi guages etc so if you wanted them its more wiring.the biggest factor is the fact the engine will fit........you really need a 2.0 you can do a like for like swap on
