How much of a difference do these make to a cleaner running engine???

is it enough to be able to De-cat and still pass MOT?
What benifits would it give you??

No, it won't allow you to fit a decat and pass - all they do is stop the engine breathing in the oil mist from the crank or cam breather system. No bhp gains, just helps keep the induction tract clean.

I know Daz had one of these fitted and am sure he said that it does actually work and you can see the oil in their after a while, think it reduces engine ware aswell as what Rik said, although how much by I'm not sure, they are on e-bay for about £30, I do intend on getting one at some point myself

Do yourself a favour and do not buy a £30 one - they are just an empty can and are next to friggin useless as they will just suck the oil mist straight through. Invest a bit more and purchase one that is baffled, and preferably has steel wool to catch the vapour, much more effective.

It's your money your wasting tho.

They do not reduce engine wear, or affect emissions or offer anything else wonderful. They just keep the inlet tract clear and will save you having to clean gunk from the throttle butterfly on the odd occaision, and therefore will help in a minimal way with engine efficiency.

A worthwhile mod, for the reasons Daz states - but not a cure-all.

i tend to think of it as an object that helps a little bit to keeping the engine clean-nothing more

they do look good,i got an ebay one but filled it with wire wool on mr fosters drinkers recommendation

yep it works very well

I haven't put wire wool or anything in the tank, i just run the two pipes from the rocker cover to the oil catch tank & blocked off the pipes/valves from the inlet manifold & CAI plenium. I used fuel vacuum silicon pipe as other silicon pipe can corrode with oil. When i took my OEM inlet off it was soaked in oil in the runners
