Bit of a stupid question really but does the Gen 1, 2 or early 3 have the inlet manifold brace. These are the two braces that fasten on the rear of the inlet manifold to engine block

My gen 1 had one - remember coming across it when trying to remove the cylinder head and inlet manifold to send to Androo. Could not get the swine off, had tried for 1/2 hr - then noticed the brace

Not sure if they do much of anything though, could fabricate one easily enough if you need one for the Airram...

yeah they are usually whipped off and not replaced (the yanks)

Bit of a belt-and-braces approach by Hyundai then, one might say...

i couldnt fit them anywhere to the overboost

Would be a simple and cheap matter to get a machine shop to TiG on a nut or two to the under or rear side of the manifold. bit of 5mm suitably bent and drilled and a couple bolts. Jobs a good 'un

Thanks for the posts guys, cheers for the info. I noticed when i got the AIRRAM it didn't have anywhere to bolt the braces to & the stock braces wouldn't fit anyway. I did toy with the idea of having some made up to suit & have the AIRRAM done so i can bolt them in but a friend of mine at MIJ said it don't make a difference & a lot of cars don't even have the braces on the inlets. I still wonder if it's best i get braces made up & that would mean i'd have to take the dam AIRRAM off again. Any ideas anyone?

dont worry about it, im sure it'll be fine. Aarons airram isnt braced either

Cheers guys. I'll leave the brace off, i really don't want to take the thing off again then mess around waiting for brackets/braces made up then having to build it up again. Trouble is, is now i've done all this & spent the money i don't want to drive the car, i want to leave it nice & safe on the drive looking all clean & prity.
