The Mother outlaw has a Gen 1 2.0se with 60k on it in mint condition. A few weeks back it dropped a cylinder and after changing the HT leads and not getting it back i limped it to my local garage who plugged into the OBDII and established that one or more of the ECU drivers had become corrupt.

After some research i can not find anyone who can repair the ECU from a Gen 1, has anyone had this done? if so who by?

Looks like it needs a new ECU fitting and coding which i have been quoted £500 for, anyone know if this is a reasonable price for this job?

Also can anyone advise what the pitfalls of fitting a used unit are rather than a new one?

Any help would be appreciated.
