Ive started taking the box off my spare engine, all the bolts are out, and ive split it from the engine, however I can only get it about an inch away from the engine and it springs back. Ive had boxes off other cars before (not Hyundais though) and never had this, anyone know what the problem is?

Im assuming thats the arm at the top of the box. How do I get round it? Not come accross that prob before.

yes i struggled for a few hours.
i cant really remember mate i know you have to pull the bush out and the arm goes 'floppy' disengaging the release bearing. 14mm bolt maybe or a split pin or something like that my mind is blank. it'll come to me at around 4am things usually do.

i also have never come across a systme like this, very odd.

Cheers, will have look at arm and remove it at the next opportunity.

how'd you get on?
the arm its self doesn't come off its the top part of it and now a 10mm bolt springs to mind but i could not be sure

Its off, I didn't remove a 10mm bolt though.

Thanks for the help, its up for sale in the foe sale section (where else), I'm finding this cars a bit backward, jobs you expect to take ages are easy on the coupe, whilst jobs that are usually simple Hyundai have made over complicated.
