What a load of crap. Seriously.

So these things are suppposed to sit right on top of a cone filter and allow air to pass through, without allowing water in. It's gonna get sucked in, maybe not straight away but eventually. A car engine makes a superb and efficient vacuum pump...

Avoid. Instead, mount the cone as an SRI, then run a cold air feed to it. No water ingress problems with a cold air feed. It's cheaper too, duct is a tenner for 3m from B&Q...
