Ok, so today im going to brave the wind and rain and get this blow sorted out on the rear section.
Ive got the PCM catback (gen 3.5, 2.7 v6) and where the twin boxes join the first part of the mid section it seems to be blowing from there.
Having a look, it seems that where its ground out on a roundabout (the flange sits 3 finger widths off the floor) that part of the gasket has been pulled away.
Now i was going to take this apart, clean surfaces and use gasket paste instead of a replacement gasket - ive done exhausts before so thats not a problem, but not usually with the standard bolt face to face type setup - usually use new gaskets, but isnt an option here.
So, can anyone confirm that replacing the gasket there with a gasket paste will form a good seal?
its only a small blow but im just getting things right for the MOT - and little things like this bug the hell outta me
