Well after many litres of oil and spending lots of money on trying to fix the oil burning problem...
...I have decided to give up and buy another engine. It would appear to be cheaper than attempting to fix it. Just annoyed I have spent upwards of £300 trying to sort it.

Does anyone know what engines will fit in my Gen2 Reg. 2000 1.6 litre without having to botch anything or modify the engine bay? will a 2.0 litre engine fit?

I have heard the hyundai accent engines of around the same year are the same?

There is a 1.6l engine at a local-ish scrappy from a 1999 coupe for £300 inc VAT.

Is this a good price considering its close by? and more importantly will it fit?

nah, ive spent hours in person there just talking mods and stuff, if its a bit busy he might ask to ring back but he should be able to sort you out.
