Car: 55 Plate 2.0 Facelift 44k

1. Whirling Noise

Seems to do it mainly when car is really warmed up but havent done many tests to figure out the exact conditions. Its only present when accelerating around the 1.5k - 3k rpm range (engine could just be masking it above 3k and it hasent got a turbo or supercharger unfortunately...).

2. RPM

Revs go up by a few hundred RPM when dipping clutch and coming off accelerator. Mainly when up in the higher RPM range 3k +.

3. Gear Box

The gear stick likes to find a half way between engaged and not for reverse... I really need to make sure stick is all the way back and sloted or i just get revs and a weird clicking noise like the gear is half engaged and the teeth are just barely touching.

4. Gearbox (Thinking i might need a new one now...)

I get a noticeable clunk when engaging reverse gear and some times first as i slot the gear in with clutch fully deppressed.

1. Not totally sure on this but could just be the moving parts taking the strain, unless its a deafining sound then you might want it to be professionally checked out (in my experiance 'professionally' means not a hyundai garage but then they should do it for free under warranty)

2. Mine does this too, mainly when im looking for quick gear changes. Iv put it down to the fuel rack releasing the charged fuel. Assuming this is normal

3. When this happens if you lift the clutch slowly while pulling into reverse it will lock in. Assuming normal again

4. Sometimes the teeth dont mesh right so they grind, change into reverse more slowly and smothly as the drive shaft is having to change direction. Normal again

slight increase in revs when changing gear is normal, gear selection issue is uslay either a sticking clutch try dipping the clutch before selecting reverse or first. as for genral shifting try pushing the clutch pedal all the way down if that dont help you may have a fluid leak in the slave cylinder. as for whinning noise most likely belt whine or possible gearbox whine as most gearboxes do this i would not worry.
