My v6 has not had a service in 8000 miles, so i am gonna give it a bash myself, will prob get all the parts from Unipart. My manual says to use 'champion' spark plugs, would it matter if i used BOSCH(http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Bosch-Super-4-Spa ... 4149bd57b5)?

also, what is the best:

- Oil? make and type?
- Spark Plugs ''.................''
- Air filter ''......................''
- Oil Filter ''.....................''

Any links you have would be great

Its for my v6 2002 coupe. to be honest, never had an engine like this before, so always gone for the cheapest types of product, but would rather pay extra for this engine.

Doing this yourself :roll: i thought you didn't know much about taking engines to bits ... just take the V6 six pack off the top of the engine , you will find the back 3 plugs under the inlet manifold ... this has to be removed before taking the plugs out ... Have fun :lol

use bosch super4 spark plugs alot better than standard 1's, use full syn oil and remember to put the sump plug back in lol

well flip!!!!! thats a pain, well ill be getting the tea and the correct tools, may get hands dirty, but its their job to do lol, im not mechanically minded, i can spray dashboards and bumpers and wheels, but mechanics aint my thing, fuses and bulbs thats it! haha, thanks for the info and help, we will see how it goes, if all is well, gonna be a busy few weeks o servicing and modding!

It'll take a good hour and a half to take it apart and back together the first time you do it. There is a guide to do it in the diy section.

That is a good few trips to and from the kettle then!!!! cheers for the help, we will see how it goes. just dont trust paying a garage £200 to service it, and maybe they wont even change anything apart from oil.

ah right, so semi-synth 10-40 oil it is then. ye i checked halfords and reccomended is semi 10-40, but further down says full protection fully synth. and the link the BOSCH super 4's are here:

these are the ones the old man used for his lexus ls400 aswell, obviously slightly diff for his model, but then i checked, and they are all £2.99 each for every car, even down to a pug 1.1 etc.

the BOSCH seem good, but why so cheap, and according to this site he sells from they are suited for all cars, still undecided, £9.21 for champion is alot, i would pay £5 per plug reasonable, still undecided, i am tight and need help haha!!!

why not just use bog standard NGK plugs? I pay about £2.50 each for those and they have always been bang on
