Well im getting back to this thing called walking.

Car overheated on way back home on the M1 on Wednesday night, pulled over as soon as I could and got RAC to tow me home.

Car went to garage yesterday and I just spoke to them about an hour ago.

They seem to believe the water pump collapsed and 'may' have caused the head gasket to go and the top of the radiator apparently has melted and is leaking......

It is covered by a extended warranty thing but garage believes it wont cover multiple things so they are going to ring them Monday and fine out what they will or will not replace.

oh dear thats bad news..........no warning at all?

As soon as I noticed temp gauge going up I pulled over just bad luck I guess.

what warranty u got? reason i ask is im currently in the cooling off period for an extracare warrantydirect one and am still wondering if its worth it.

Autoprotect I think.

If it covers atleast one part for over the cost of the warranty then its worth it I guess.

Personally I would check if they cover multiple items, IE like mine, where the water pump goes and takes out the head gasket (maybe) do they cover both?

This is just good to know so its not a shock when you find it doesn't.

I will keep you informed what they say tomorrow. Not going to be one of my fav phone calls, keeping fingers crossed.
