right.......I'm not sure what exactly is wrong so i'm hoping one of you guys could point me in the right direction. My car started Juddering as i was driving down my road, at maybe 5-10 mph. Almost as if somebody kept ripping the handbrake up and down every 3 seconds. Managed to get it parked outside my house, got in it the next day, and it drove to work fine. Got back in after work to drive home, and could not get it to move at all. If i put it in 1st gear and try to pull off the engine just revs up and wont drive forward at all. It feels like it gets the bite, but wont move in the slightest. If i put it in reverse, it will move incredibly slowly, then come to a crashing halt and bounce forwards (almost as if I've hit a wall.)

Any ideas. a few of my friends said its the gearbox or clutch, so im not sure

Could be the clutch. What type of Coupe do you have?

ive got a 53 plate gen 3 1.6 done 87000miles

im in Dudley. I wasn't sure what it was so ive ordered a new gear box off a 55 plate gen 3 (only done 23000 miles) and a new valio 3 piece clutch kit. a local garage said they will fit both for £140 which i didnt think was too bad. a local mechanic took a look at the car and said he was sure it was the gearbox, but he wanted too much to fit it so i went else where.
