Missing in 2nd gear - time to kangaroooo down!

my V6 is missing in 2nd gear, none other. Seems to happen mostly when the engine is cold. ****** me off because i havent kangarood since for 6 years when i was first learning to drive :lol

. Any ideas? Spark plugs were replace August 2008, in the year and a half ive owned the car the HT leads have never been changed. Also only noticed this since the CAI was on.

the leads are notorious,worse than the plugs.change them

there the ones, you should be able to use them with stock plugs.....my advice......rip them out and get some performance ones ull notice the difffrence in response

Bosch SUPER4 work well, dude - several of the 4cyl coupe owners run 'em, as do some V6's. I had SUPER4 in my Coupe with Magnecor leads and that was a good combo :thumbup

got super 4 in mine, had ngk irridium in the 2.0l

if i was due plugs then id get the super 4's but to be honest i paid ALOT for the plugs that hyundai put in last year and they are perfectly fine so not really looking to replace. All i want to do is fix this mis firing issue. So you guys recon those leads will work fine with my plugs still?

You guys are going to laugh at this...

Well i decided to check my coolant/oil levels yesterday and its a good job i did. Found that the thin breather pipe tube thingy that goes at the top of the CAI was off completely and also the rubber tube that connects the pipes that the clamps tighten on to had slipped leaving the upper pipe half dislodged. Since fixing this i have no problems so far :rollin

Could this have damaged my engine at all as it must have been like this for a good couple of months? :aargh
