I am in the process of putting in my new induction kit and have a problem.

From my old (standard) kit the box that houses the filter had two cables going into it , or at least one looks like a cable the other may be a hose?

What do I do with these as there is no where for them to go on my new kit??

Thanks[/b]

I don't have a pic at the mo, but anyone who has put in an induction kit into a 2.0 gen1 should know?

The one in the 2nd picture is the air sensor and really should be placed in the new airpipe somewhere or you'll be getting incorrect readings going into the ECM which will mean you'll be getting the wrong mixture. How much difference it'll make, I'm not sure. Not sure what the other connection is, I don't have that on my Gen.1 unless its the one that plugs into the throttle body??

You can see how the sensor fits into the CAI ducting normally in the picture below:

Does that mean I have to cut a hole in my new shiny air pipe?

The one in pic 2 came out of the box with the filter in (the back I think.)

The second came out slightly further up the original intake. It'll take a closer look at it in a bit see if I can give you a better description.

Yes you will mate unfortunately, but maybe you could drill it round the back to hide it maybe?

Here is a better look at those parts

This is a close up of what we now believe to be the sensor. Drilling will comense tomorrow morning at first light.

Here is the other

It is connected to that box on the TB in the top centre of the pic.

Is it an inducton kit or just a filter you are fitting ???

If its an induction kit you should have the chrome pipes like this

Then the sensor should fit in the hole with the rubber gromit that held it in the filter box

Like this

Then it will be like this

If you are just putting a filter on using the old pipes I think you will need to drill a hole the right size

I also think that the plug you found is not used on are coupes as I thought the same thing when I did mine and found it and paniced that I had disconected it, but when I looked at someone elses they had the same spare plug thing

Hope this helps mate

Hi guys,

Thanks for the tips, I have extended and twisted it slightly so now it sits more under the battery. I may also speak to the supplier (Im quite friendly with the receptionist) and see if I can get hold of a spare short length to get it right under and nearer the front. ;)

Now to think of my next plan.......
