Hi, I've been thinking of getting a full exhaust system done for a while now but don't know I don't really want to fork out all that dosh when it can be better spent on other mods.

I was thinking, as a short-term measure, getting the middle exhaust box removed and have it replaced with a straight through pipe. I think this will give a bit more noise and perhaps some minor gains. I have been quoted £40 to have this done but wanted to check if anyone on here has had it done and what the results were.

Ninos - whats your take on rasp? If you like it... then do it, if you dont - then dont.

You wont get much (if any) more boom from it, and will just have a rasp or tinny rasp sound.... i know it sounds daft, but get yourself a universal backbox with a tip you like (for around £40) then get the backbox cut after the axle bend right before it meets the box - then hopefully, all you will need is a clamp and bobs your uncle - imo its the backbox that makes by far the biggest change in sound for noise and boom - so if youre careful and take length measurements, you can get a nice setup for under £100 (for both) - only downside is that if you then ever want to upgrade the catback, you'll have to sell the boxes as you'll probs want bigger bore etc for performance...
