Ok, having spent pretty much the whole day researching the OBD-II ports fitted to cars, I wouldn't mind connecting my laptop up and looking at all the information which some people are able to view. In particular, data in real-time such as temperatures, speed, revs, etc.

Having searched this forum though, there seems very mixed responses. Has anybody actually managed to get any useful data outputted to a laptop?

I know that item is not for sale through that link, but something similar is i'm sure.

I am fairly well up with technology so I am likely to understand what is requird. Any information would be great.

This is something I'm quite interested in trying as I have just acquired a "Check Engine" warning light permanently lit although the car is running fine. I've booked it in for a daignostic but I found this on ebay..
