Hello

I have a '98 Red 1.6 coupe

This sweet man at my work has offered to help me service my car; Previously he has put new plug in and changed the oil and filter (including the "complex air filter" which even I can change now )

My question is this: How often should I change the gear box oil; the car has just turned 61K!! It is often quite reluctant to go into first so i just slip him into second and push the gas hard. If I do have to change gear oil what should I replace it with (the dreadful Hyundai dealer wont give me a manual for my car)

Actually on saying that the car is a 5-speed manual


Also should we change the Fuel filter? I hear it's a bit of a nightmare to change

yep, its due. 40k i think its usually done iirc

if the air filter is tricky, dont attempt the fuel filter

Gearbox is easy enough though - but you'll have to take all the airbox out!!
