After previously posting about whinging about my mpg, this has happened:

£48.95 filled up 55 litres or so on 2nd November

Done 200miles so far, some motorway miles to an interview, and twice 28mile trip for a welsh league football match, back and to from work each day and the gym, its now the 9th November, and i got a 1/4 tank left saying 60miles, so gotta refill probably in next few days, so £50 pretty much lasts a fortnight!!!!!!! How depressing!!!!!

Thats good a tankful lasts me 4 days (just over 300 miles)

wow 4 days, where do you work mate? so it costs you £50 every week then???

its doing my loaf in to be honest, i got the money, but £100 is £100 at the end of the day!!! Do wish i got the 2.0ltr instead, but love the v6, especially the wheels etc etc.

May get myself a bike and pedal to work, but i hate the rain lol

quick update, 253miles off a full tank, the yellow light came on, drove for 5miles and bottled it then filled up lol.

it'll do about 40 miles with that on

I think I read in the manual that the fuel light comes on when there's 9L left?

ye guys i see what your saying, and when i have done some decent motorway miles its been great. But i have never had anything bigger than a 1.8 lol so use to getting decent town milage. To be honest i will stick it out, but if ever it does cost me over £100 in 1 month for petrol then even though i havent owned her long i think it will be time to part with it. I dont have my own mortage or major bills and i work full time, but i like to have money, and save it mainly lol. but since ive had it ive bought stuff for it, had bday's to pay out for so i have perhaps noticed it more than any other month

the 2.0l is better for town driving, its actually better than the 1.6 as it doesnt have to work as hard. but if you look at most petrol sport cars the urban mpg cycle is down in the mid 20's.

try using less revs to pull away, changing up gears lower down the rev range and using the low down torque to build speed up. also knock the car in nutural and roll upto lights junction etc. the car will travel further than if its left in gear as the speed wont decrease as quickly.
