I tend to spend a fair amount of time over in the US and as most of you know, many things are a lot cheaper over that way!

Now that I've just picked up a used 2001 Coupe, I might source a few items from the US when i go over next month.

Are there any differences between the models in the US and the UK?

Mine is only a 1.6L which they don't have, so other than the engine displacement, is anything else different?

i think you'll find there steering wheels are on the wrong side i haven't got a clue

I'm really mainly concerned with the availability of parts in the USA vs the UK.

Simple things like new brake calipers can be sourced in the US for around 28 quid ($45) each + postage.

Discs are generally around 14 quid ($20) per wheel.

Last year, I re-did the brakes on my '95 Nissan 240SX for the princely sum of 55 quid - that was 4 discs and four sets of pads! And the discs even came from Italy in the first place! The rear discs were only a fiver each

I see pads at the moment over at RockAuto for $8.95 on special too.

The front discs on my car passed the MOT 2 months ago but they are starting to get a bit worn down so I'll probably pick up a pair in October when I'm over
