Pity you can't build a car port. Much better for your car as it prevents build up of condensation in all the places you don't want condensation to form, whilst keeping the worst the weather has to throw at it at bay.
Buy a good quality cover as I've heard of instances where the cover bonds to the paint in odd places and causes discolouration and other marks. If it's only a month or two it shouldn't be much of an issue.
I have heard there are folding type covers like a frame tent, where you drive into one half of it and fold the other half down to give complete coverage without any contact with the car. Bit like a portable garage.
Got to be worth thinking about if this is going to be a regular event.
