Or maybe your driving was just SUPERB? Hot days often return higher mpg, as do long journies... but im not sure here

And where do we purchase an "sri" from then?

well there is the SRI and the CAI (Cold Air Intake) which is a longer pipe, just have a quick look on performance coupe under induction, you will find some there, but they are quite expensive, just have a gander through google and that, you can get them from a few places,

An easy way of doing it is to buy a universal cone filter and attach it to the end of the pipe that currently goes into the airbox, so you can do the snorkus mod (in DIY) and remove the airbox.

Hi Lakez, I can confirm that an SRI will give you better MPG providing you don't kane it everywhere. I found when I removed the SRI off my old black gen 3, I was actually using more petrol.

Hig, you only use more petrol now because you are addicted to the sound of your SRI coupled with a heavy right foot, hence the increase in fuel used. Try driving your car without the sudden urge to plant your foot for 1 week and I gaurantee, you will see better mpg. You might want to do an ecu reset first.

I don't have that problem, general town driving I get 33 - 34 mpg, I drive everywhere half the time not doing more than 2000 revs lol! I can't hear the whistle as it is hardly ever there lol! I just would have thought that was the hypothetical case

Anyway yer, Hyundai say mine can only do 32mpg standard and I got 34mpg town running and 39.7mpg combined, that is with the SRI, so mpg id definately better.
