42MPG?

i get between 19 and 23MPG lol

Cruise control "should" give you a better MPG as an average, as it will keep you at a more consistent rev range, meaning you dont harshly accelerate, but over hills etc it will lower due to the fact that it will never ease off the revs like you could in a normal car if you saw something infront

im pretty sure that i read somewhere that using cruise control saves fuel, when having your right foot on the pedal your never at one speed, slowing down, speeding up, cruise control keeps you at one speed, which apparently saves fuel and allows you to plan ahead saving you from braking and speeding up.
Thats what i read anyway :rollin

as for fuel and mileage.
my car is ace if i keep it at 60-64 not going past 3,000 revs. i got 190 miles out of Â£20 :cool:

Think that's like 47 mpg?

its about the same as a regular ford focus really (but that gets much better mpg and is faster stock

)

Well done for getting 40mpg!

I had a long trip too last weekend but I certainly didn't get 40+ mpg :rollin

On the plus side, the car is running so much better now!

Back in 2003 when I was working in Canada (Alberta) I had a couple of V6 Gen 3's.

On a long trip from Edmonton to Banff we averaged 38 MPG - now that was impressive!

And I'll not say just how fast we were going for most of that journey but the MPG was astonishing in that scenario :mrgreen:

Aound town it was bloody awful, getting approx 15 MPG...

However a colleague of mine in Florida had a new 5.7L Corvette (2002 model LS1 engine) and it averaged 32 MPG overall!!!
