i dont understand how people can be dismayed by this review when at the top right of the page it states that its rival is the volvo c30!! furthermore it scores higher in the "cool" category when its stylings have so obviously been lifted directly from an astra VXR!

i know i will be killed for saying this but no bad thing. read an auto express review and tbh it didnt look as amazing as i had hoped and interior is a little disappointing.

it just doesnt look as good as it could have. and if they arent bringin the genesis coupe here then we should get the gen4 soon. the coupe sells too well to leave it slip away

ok hamond may and clarkson have all said great things about the coupe on TV, if this came from the top gear magazine they dont write it. evo magazine ran v6 3.5 as a long termer and they loved it, they may even have used the forum.

people who slag off the coupe are badge snobs who havent driven the coupe, my uncle has an 05 330ci bmw and admits that the ride handling and fun factor of my coupe is just as good and the fun is better. at the end of the day the media say what the public want to hear and they believe hyundai are crap so if the hey say hyundai are good they public want listen to them or buy there magazine. I remember 5th gear were slated for concluding that the honda s2000 was better than the boxster, which it is but the dumb public didnt agree.

Been 6ft 4in I can safely say my head does not touch the roof.

Some people prefer looks to performance.

It's not a VW but it's pretty damn good, a few common problems as all cars do!

The stig was drunk when testing it.

Practicality
Is it a hatchback?.. the name Coupe gives it away. The fuel , tax and insurance are all fairly priced. It has a huge boot compared to hatchbacks!

Running costs
Possibly the only fair point (mines a 1.6 so don't know).

You can't always rely on other peoples reviews. I was reading the other day about the coupe vs a fiat coupe...and according to the review i read the fiat has a nice roomy back and the coupe is only suitable for children. Personally i am well impressed with the room in the back of the coupe and having sat in the back of a fiat coupe i can tell you with certainty it is DEFINATELY not roomy

Look at it this way, a couple of years ago they did a cheap car challange, where they had to buy a coupe for under £1500, a decent gen1 can be picked up for under £1500, yet what did they buy? A Starion held togeather by tape, a BMW with only half its cylinders left, and a classic Jag. Ok mays Jag wasn't to bad, especially as it was a classic, he got a good deal, but Hammond and Clarkson brought heaps of crap. One for the BMW badge, about the only bit of the car that worked, the other because it had over 200bhp in 1988! (had close to 250 for all of a minute when he fitted a WRC turbo then blew it up!), given a choice of either of their cars or a Gen1, I know what most people will choose.

Ya know its funny, i was watching an old episode of top gear on dave yesterday and while on the cool wall i spotted a red gen3 in the "cool" section on the right hand side. I thought i was seeing things at first but using sky+ you can clearly see it.
