Some here might think its a crazy question, but if your coupe key fob only works at close range, so you might as well stick the key in the lock to open/shut (old fashioned ) then this is your solution!!

Its been a well known fact for years, so im not pretending to have just figured it out, that if you hold the key fob (remote) to your head or under the chin and press, it will indeed open/close the car from a very long distance away!!

In college, a few years back, and tried to open a car down below in the car park, with no joy, then, even though we were 4 floors up, held the key to my head, pressed it, and hey-presto, it worked.

Give it a try for those who dont believe.

So someone can quickly rob anything you have left in the car before you can get to it... durrr. lol Mine seems to unlock from 6-8 meters which is more than enough!

There is an upside to it though.. People looking at you thinking what a tit... and then watch you getting into your coupe thinking ahhh that lucky tit..

i know what you mean about, why the need to open from a long distance, BUT... my car is among those that opens only when im at the door, so whats the point!

There are two benefits that I can think of.
1/ If your fob battery is poor then magnifying the signal by this method assists in opening your locks and disarming the alarm system. Sometimes you need a strong signal to complete this function.
2/ If you walk away from your coupe and forget to lock it or can't remember if you did, then you can operate the lock from a huge distance or from an office in sight of coupe without the need to return to the car or get nearer to it.
So it doesn't happen often, but it only needs to happen once for the function to be useful.
