I had that full episode saved to my faveourites for ages... it's been removed now :(

Was a brilliant episode! Just shows the difference between Clarkson and Vicki, have to buy a used car and mod for a race round a track:

Clarkson - old RWD V8, puts in bigger V8, custom Escort Cosworth style spoilerm respray and alloys... thats it

Vicki - old Nova, replaces with a 2.0, tuned with cams and throttle bodies, lowered, lightened and resprayed.

Clarkson anhialates her on the drag race as expected, on the track he proves that he cant drive to save his life, and she proves her choice was the best for handling on a circuit - however he makes up the time and then some in the straights - they both lose it once in the wet, but ultimately the power was enough to carry Clarkson to victory all round.

It annoyed a lot of Nova fans that whinged that on a dry track the Nova would have easily won: forgetting that they were both completely modified and neither had a stock engine in so why are thery comparing? Also a RWD car suffers more in the wet anyway surely?

Total shame the video was removed it is a classic!

That said there is a bit of this clip that shows how much it dominated on the straights:

Came damned close to buying one after I broke the Coupe up - was a low mileage V8 Vanden Plas, the same colour as you describe. In mint condition, £1400ono. Just couldn't justify the running cost, but by God do I wish I'd bought it now... :bang :aargh
