If you remove the positive first you can potentially fry your ECU, I seem to remember someone doing that not so long back - if it didn't fry it certainly put up a lot of warning lights |

Hmmm Ive always removed my +, never had a problem. Thats not to say im saying its 100% safe, Im just saying its never caused me any issues. Will make a point of taking the - off first next time. |

Having just read through this post, the confusion as to which lead to remove is worrying. In the DIY section it definately states 'remove the LIVE lead. When I was at school, that was the positive lead. This needs clearing up. Does it mean remove the posative lead, but only AFTER removing the negative first or what??? Some of us like to follow instructions to the letter but if the letter is wrong or misleading.... |
