Brilliant brilliant brilliant brilliant!

Just got round to doing it after having my freeflow backbox (the previous owners were sunday drivers) and WOW!

Im sure its maybe just me putting my foot down, but there definately used to be flat spots, and these have now gone and i could swear the car quite a bit pokier!

did it today on the Gen3. haven't had a chance to bring it on a run yet!

couple of questions

1. any recomendations for best peformance, been having a little bit of trouble from stationary getting up to pace.

2. does this have any effect on the ODO

has anyone had there chip re-mapped or had a piggyback installed? some sites have been talking about a 20-25 % horse power increase! if so WOW

Rory, stay away from Chips n stuff, there a few stickys on here about them, good way to completly say goodbye to ya engine

cheers mate, i've been doing a bit of digging on them and what i've seen doesn't make sense based on what i know (which is very little) of Engines/ peformance/ timing / stoichiometricity/ ECC blah blah blah....

if anything from what im seeing and hearing is all sorts of problems such as pre-ignition and pinging. mapping would be safe enough but its something that offers very little.

Since I got an SRI fitted my fuel consumption has nosedived, most likely due to not having done an ECU reset. Im gonna do one now, and was wondering could I simply remove the ECU fuse instead of disconnecting the battery?

i presume the quicker method of just taking the ECU fuse out of the fuse box and putting it back in has just the same effect?

I personally would remove the ECU fuse which would negate having to reprogram the stereo
