Post subject:  Drivers side key hole fault?

I've had my 1998 Hyundai Coupe 2.0 SE for about a month now and all is well apart from having a dieing battery. But this evening however i tried to unlock the car and the key would only go half in the lock. It almost seems as if the lock is half activated and is stopping the key from sliding all the way in. After climbing in through the boot i managed to flick the interior locks with no problem (so that would mean there isn't a problem with the central locking). The same morning i did need to recharge the battery, which could possibly have something to do with it.

If anyone has any ideas to whats going on or possibly what I could do if the lock is buggered I would greatly appreciate it?

...And its definitely not ice.

A sticking keyhole *can* be a symptom of a failing locking motor which the coupe is famous for, could you not use the keyhole on the passenger side?
Other than lubing everything up, not a lot you can do without replacing parts.

I had this problem in winter, the lock just froze on drivers side so, I went and un-locked it from passenger side lol, then flicked the drviers side lock, then got in ... I mention this as your problem sounded similar
